1.1 These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your membership of and access to the Blue Light Escapes platform (the “Platform”).
1.2 The Platform is operated by Blue Light Escapes Ltd (“BLE”, “we”, “us”, “our”), registered and operating from Fusion Hive, North Shore Road, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 2NB.
1.3 By registering for membership (“Member”, “you”, “your”), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2.1 Membership is available only to individuals who meet BLE’s eligibility criteria within the blue light and armed forces community.
2.2 Current eligible roles are published in our Help Centre and may be updated from time to time.
2.3 BLE reserves the right, at its discretion, to determine eligibility and to request evidence to verify eligibility.
2.4 You must be at least 18 years old to become a member.
3.1 To create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information, including:
- First name and last name
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Contact number
- Password
3.2 Membership eligibility must be verified either via:
- A verified work email address, or
- An accepted form of identification (as listed in the Help Centre)
3.3 Where ID is uploaded, we recommend redacting all information other than your name, employer, and date.
3.4 We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate membership where eligibility criteria are not met or false information is provided.
4.1 The standard membership fee is £19.99 for a two-year term, unless otherwise stated.
4.2 Membership does not automatically renew. Members must re-verify eligibility before or upon expiry.
4.3 Introductory or promotional pricing may be offered at BLE’s discretion.
4.4 Payments must be made using an accepted payment method displayed at checkout. All payments are processed in GBP and include applicable taxes where required.
Right to cancel & refunds
4.5 You have a right to cancel your membership within 14 days of payment.
4.6 If you request cancellation within this period, your membership fee will be refunded to the original payment method within a reasonable time.
4.7 After the 14-day cooling-off period, membership fees are non-refundable.
5.1 Upon successful registration, you will be issued a unique membership number for identification and administrative purposes.
6.1 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity on your account.
6.2 You must:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information
- Use only one account per person
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
6.3 You may update your personal information or delete your account via the “My Account” area.
6.4 BLE reserves the right to require password changes where necessary for security reasons.
7.1 Membership is personal, non-transferable, and for individual use only.
7.2 Membership provides access to exclusive travel, accommodation, and wellness offers provided by third-party hosts and partners.
7.3 Discounts:
- Are exclusive to BLE members
- Must not be shared with non-members
- Must not be used for commercial or resale purposes
7.4 Abuse of discounts (including sharing codes, misrepresenting eligibility, or operating multiple accounts) may result in suspension or termination of membership without refund.
7.5 BLE is not responsible for hosts withdrawing or amending offers. Members must review individual listing or host terms before booking.
8.1 You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting BLE. No refunds are payable outside the cooling-off period.
8.2 BLE may suspend or terminate your membership where:
- These Terms are breached
- Eligibility is no longer met
- Fraud or misuse is suspected
8.3 Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to contact you before termination. In serious cases, immediate suspension may occur.
8.4 Upon termination, access to member benefits will cease immediately.
9.1 Renewal reminders will be sent by email approximately 14 days before expiry.
9.2 Continued membership requires re-verification of eligibility.
10.1 When booking accommodation or experiences, you enter into a direct contract with the host, unless stated otherwise.
10.2 BLE acts solely as a facilitator and is not a party to booking contracts.
10.3 Hosts are responsible for:
- Accuracy of listings
- Pricing
- Discount
- Availability
- Compliance with applicable laws
11.1 All booking cancellations and refunds are governed by the host’s own terms and conditions.
11.2 BLE is not liable for host cancellation decisions but may assist with communication where appropriate.
12.1 You agree to use the Platform lawfully, respectfully, and in good faith.
12.2 Prohibited activities include:
- Fraud or deception
- Data scraping or harvesting
- Abuse of hosts or other members
- Activity intended to harm BLE or the Platform
13.1 You grant BLE a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use content you submit (including reviews and messages) for operational and promotional purposes.
13.2 You confirm that all content you submit is lawful, accurate, and does not infringe third-party rights.
14.1 BLE processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, available on the Platform.
14.2 Personal data is used for account management, service provision, and marketing where consent has been given.
14.3 BLE implements reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.
15.1 By becoming a member, you consent to receive:
- Service-related emails (e.g. verification, payment, renewal)
- Marketing communications (which you may opt out of at any time)
16.1 The Platform is provided on an “as is” basis. BLE does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
16.2 BLE does not verify host licensing, insurance, or regulatory compliance. Responsibility rests solely with the host.
17.1 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under law.
17.2 Subject to clause 17.1, BLE’s total liability arising from your membership shall not exceed the amount paid by you to BLE in the 12 months preceding the claim.
18.1 BLE may amend these Terms from time to time.
18.2 Material changes will be notified via email or the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
19.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
19.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
